Welcome to Street Dreams as we celebrate our 25th year in the classic and muscle car business. The 1960's were some of the most exciting years in the history of the automobile. Most enthusiasts are aware that the 'muscle car' was born when Pontiac stuffed their full-size 389 V8 into the intermediate Tempest for the 1964 model year. But the lesser-known full-size performance cars also peaked in the 1960's, only to vanish with the changing tastes of a new decade. This slick Fathom Green 1969 .....
Chevrolet Biscayne is a fine example of a fascinating subset of the full-size genre; the sleeper. There isn't much to distinguish this beast from Granny's Biscayne with the 6-cylinder engine and 3-speed, except those small 427 callouts on the front fenders! That's right, this beauty is sporting a correct 427 big block (BCN 3963512) topped with the Winter's foundry high rise factory aluminum intake manifold, Holley carburetor as well as a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission, 12-bolt rear end, front and rear sway bars, power steering, tilt steering column, and radio block-off plate. This two ton terror was set up to run, just as many racers did in the day, and it is an absolute blast to be shifting a 4-speed in a car this large. This was the last year that you could order a 4-speed manual transmission in full-size Chevrolets, and by the early 1970's American manufacturers had abandoned the idea of powerful behemoths. Our classic features good paint, trim, chrome, glass, dash, upholstery, headliner, and carpet. Helmet and slicks not included!
