Description
This is a real GTO with the original #'s matching 400 engine! Highly documented with a binder full of paperwork including the original Protect-O-Plate and even the registration from 1969. It also has service receipts going back to 1970 and to make it even better we have the Pontiac Historical documents too. It is equipped with many desirable options like air conditioning and hideaway headlights for example. This was a California car for most of its life and has been lovingly restored and .....
preserved over the years. It's absolutely gorgeous and the color combo will give you flashbacks to 1968 when this was Motor Trend's car of the year!

EXTERIOR: Absolutely beautiful! The Verdoro Green paint has been applied with great attention to detail then polished to a smooth and glossy finish. Looking down the side of the body, all the metal is laser straight. All the panels were aligned precisely with tight consistent gaps that are well above average. The side and back glass look original, and the windshield was replaced. The rubber seals and fuzzy strips were replaced. All the chrome is straight and has a beautiful shine. The front grille with hideaway headlights is very attractive and in great shape. The redesigned front bumper proves that everything these Pontiac engineers touch turns to great. The hood mounted tachometer is one of my favorite options ever on a car. It's sitting on a gorgeous pair of Pontiac 15" rally rims with radial tires.

INTERIOR: The product of an older detailed restoration, this is a very original looking interior that is totally groovy! The headliner does not sag. The dash pad is not cracked. It's equipped with rally gages and modern Autometer water temp and oil pressure gauges were added under the dash. A retro stereo fits in the factory hole. The seats have been recovered some time ago and have great cushion. It has a very cool and original looking Hurst dual gate shifter tucked inside a very handy center console with storage. The real wood steering wheel fits the hand perfectly. It's equipped with seatbelts front and back, plus the dome light is working.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The original #'s matching 400 cubic inch V8 engine still resides under the hood. It's topped off with a 4 barrel carburetor and an Edelbrock intake manifold. It's equipped with air conditioning, power steering, and power brakes. The battery is properly secured and the squirters are hooked up. All the hoses and belts were replaced. The underside of the hood is painted the same color as the body. The fender wells and firewall have been neatly painted black.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The underside of the trunk lid and jamb are painted the same color as the body. A reproduction sticker and new weather stripping were installed. All the trunk pan metal is solid and rust free with a with a neatly applied spatter finish paint.

UNDERSIDE: This car has an older ground up restoration and was maintained as needed since. The steering and front end were rebuilt. It has a front sway bar. Replacement shocks were installed. It's equipped with front power disc brakes that look new and the emergency brake is hooked up. The dual exhaust system was completely replaced and upgraded with long tube headers, a crossover pipe, and polished exhaust tips that exit under the rear bumper. Looking up at the #"s matching 400 cubic inch V8 it is nice and clean with a high torque starter. The Turbo 400 automatic transmission is also clean with no visible leaks. That transfers power back to the 10 bolt rear end. The floors appear to be solid and rust free with an undercoating and neatly applied black paint.

SERVICE: Our lead mechanic thoroughly inspected this car and we rebuilt the carburetor, replaced the valve cover gaskets, repaired the leaking transmission, charged the A/C, installed new door handle hardware, replaced the headlight switch, replaced the antenna, lubed the rear windows, installed door bumpers, repaired the leaking rear end, and replaced the front brake hoses.

Have a blast in this is a totally bitchin' classic that is not going to break the bank! With is highly desired #'s matching engine and loads of paperwork going back to when it was new, this GTO checks all the boxes. The great wide track drive is on! If I were buying one for myself it would have to have the hideaway lights, it makes the car!
