Ultra-rare 427, 4-speed, posi with factory air conditioning in a Biscayne! #s on the motor, trans, rear, and trim tag match. It was frame off restored to factory specs except for the modern version of the rally wheels. This gorgeous muscle car came from the famous Horton Classic Car Museum. Mr. Horton was known for his passion of #s matching rare vehicles. This is nothing short of fantastic.
EXTERIOR: Laser straight body and panels. All the gaps are correct, the doors shut like a new .....
car. The paint is outstanding. Black shows all the flaws, but you'll be hard pressed to find any on this one. It's like looking into a mirror, the reflection is deep. All the glass looks crystal clear. The rubber trim moldings, and stainless trim looks replaced. Everything looks excellent on the outside. It's been tastefully upgraded with Billet rally wheels with correct 67 center caps and radial redline performance tires. The correct T3 headlights were used as well.
INTERIOR: The no frills interior looks like new. The door panels, handles, and window cranks all appear new. The padded dash is really nice, and the instrument area is great. It has a complete set of factory gauges including a tachometer and dash a working quartz movement clock. It is a factory air car which is very rare, all the original controls and vents are there along with the original radio. The original 4-spd shifter and ball are correct for a bench seat. The front and back seats appear to be reupholstered and in great shape. The headliner looks replaced and has a working dome light.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Now under the hood holds the 427-385 hp big block. We documented with pictures the correct codes, dates, and matching VIN #. It has been tastefully upgraded with Brodix aluminum heads, a hopped up cam, and coated headers. On top is a GM aluminum bow tie intake and original style dual feed Holley carb. The correct fuel line, valve covers, and air cleaner were used as well. Air conditioning was ordered and is factory to this car! It even has power steering that turns with ease. It is very tidy, proper, and detailed.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The enormous trunk is completely clean and rot free. Under the trunk lid and jamb are painted really nice. The trunk mat is there and rolled up so the trunk floor doesn't collect moisture. It has a working trunk light, bag for the original jack, and the spare tire has been restored and sits in its correct spot. A reproduction tire has been installed on the spare wheel.
UNDERSIDE: Rock solid undercarriage! This was a body off frame restoration. The front end suspension and steering components all look to have been rebuilt/ replaced at time of restoration. The dual exhaust is fitted with an H pipe and Flo Pro performance mufflers. Looking up at the motor it's spotless and is paired with a high torque starter. The original type brakes were rebuilt, the parking brake is hooked up. Fuel and brake lines were replaced. The fuel tank was replaced. Looking up at the motor it is spotless and has a high torque starter. The transmission is the correct Muncie 4-speed manual with matching vin of the car! The rear suspension all looks to be replaced as well. The Eaton 12 bolt posi rear end is fitted with 3.55 gears, and a panhard bar and has correct date and code for this car! The chassis is detailed. The floors are so nice they were prepped and painted gloss black!
SERVICE: This gorgeous Biscayne went through our on-site shop and the following was serviced: The carb adjusted, reverse light fuse and wiring, shift linkage adjusted, tachometer rewired, speedo cable replaced. Also, an alignment was done to ensure this car drives straight as an arrow down the road.
This is presented to us as a true original Tuxedo black 4spd big block Biscayne. The more time we spent studying it, the more fascinating it became. It's unique, different, and a very high quality car. It's a hopped up muscle car that's fun to drive but also restored to it's true identity!
