When it comes to car collecting, rarity and uniqueness count for a lot. Having a car (or truck) that no one else, or very few others possess is a feeling that can't properly be described unless you've experienced it. So, when a vehicle like this 1961 Ford Falcon Sedan Delivery comes around, it is something worth paying attention to. Mechanically identical to the Ford Falcon Ranchero, the Sedan Delivery simply added a metal enclosure to its bed. This is the first year for the Sedan Delivery, of .....
which, there are only 1,988 said to exist.
Fully repainted in a shimmering Silver Gray, this model year sports the convex front grille and curved side panels that defined almost all Falcon-based Ford cars of the 1960s. White wall P165/80R-13 completes the vintage look in style. Inside, we find a nicely restored beige and brown interior. Aside from the custom seating material, the inside of this Sedan Delivery looks like it did six decades ago.
Under the hood, we find the most economical variant of engine options available for 1961. A 144 cubic-inch inline-six-cylinder engine topped by a one-barrel Holley carburetor. While it won't be confused for a Cobra Jet V-8, this 90-hp engine is far less thirsty than its fire-breathing brethren when it comes time to fill up. That power is then routed through a three-on-the-tree manual transmission before being sent out to the stock 3.10-geared rearend and ultimately to the rear wheels.
