The Chevrolet Task Force series of trucks was introduced in 1955 replacing the previous Advance Design trucks. This was also the first year of the wrap around windshield which was an industry first. 1958 was the first year of the Fleetside and was also the first year Chevrolet used the name Apache. This particular example underwent a frame-off restoration which was completed in 2019. During the restoration a new speedometer and odometer were installed which now currently shows 1,206 miles. .....
Originally it had a rebuilt 283ci V8 but the current owner was not happy with its performance and purchased a new ATK High Performance 350ci V8 which was installed in 2021 with just over 600 miles on the odometer. The engine is their performance built version which was tuned at 368hp with 407ft-lbs of torque. The engine is fueled with an Edelbrock 1404 carb with manual choke, it is sparked with a HEI electronic ignition, exhaust is handled by Corvette exhaust manifolds and it sounds just plain nasty ripping through its dual 2.5" exhaust with dual tip Monza mufflers dumping in front of the rear wheels. The power is transferred to the 12 bolt posi rear end via a performance built 700R4 tranny with a 2200 stall converter which can be shut off with a switch under the dash. It was upgraded with power brakes with discs up front, power steering and a lowered mono leaf suspension. The engine bay has been beautifully enhanced with chrome billet pulleys, chrome valve covers, a chrome carb, a chrome air cleaner, a chrome alternator and an aluminum radiator. The interior is all new with paint that matches the exterior, a new 6 gauges instrument set from Classic Instruments, all new knobs and handles, a chrome Ididit steering column, a brand new heat and a/c set-up from Cold Air Products and a classy baseball glove colored interior. The original colors were kept but were spiced up as the White roof and interior trim have had pearl added to them and both the White and Forest Green have metal flake added that absolutely sparkles in the sunlight. We tried photographing it which is very difficult but you can kind of see it in the pix. The chrome has all been professionally replated, the bed was just refinished and it is topped with a set of red rims with spinner hub caps and white walled radial tires. It was just serviced within the last 100 miles, everything works as it should and it is in nearly perfect condition. All said and done over $60,000 was spent on restoring this beauty which did not even account for the original cost of the truck. We have priced it aggressively for a quick sale so if you like what you see we suggest you contact us before it is too late!
