Ford Motor Company introduced its "Deluxe Ford Line" in 1938, as stylish upscale alternatives between base models (referred as Standards) and two luxury Lincoln production vehicles. By the following year, Ford production included and offered five particular car versions: Standard Fords, Deluxe Sedan Fords, Mercury, and its Lincoln and Lincoln-Zephyr models. 4-door "woody" station wagon models appeared as well, exceeding more than 11,000 of those vehicles sold. By the end of 1940, Ford models imposingly accounted for nearly 70% of Fords 541,900 production numbers.
