1928 Ford Model AA Custom
As the automobile world grew so did the audiences manufacturers needed to cater to. People not only wanted vehicles to travel themselves but also be used for work and the pickup truck filled that need. Just like with the Model TT pickups Ford continued their pickup line with the Model AA in 1926. While they shared a lot of similar parts with the Model A car, from the cab back these trucks were set up to haul goods down the road or on the farm. This very cool .....
1928 Model AA Custom is a true Rat Rod. The exterior has a nice patina that has been clear coated to keep it protected. On the doors it has old school lettering for Swifty's Speed Shop and a flying wheel logo. On the roof the truck has a white canvas top. It also still has a lot of its original features like the front visor and pop out windshield. The wheels are nice vintage Black wire wheels with V8 center caps. They are wrapped in wide white wall Coker Radial tires and the rears are a custom size to give the truck a slight rake.
Since the truck goes hoodless the motor needs to be worthy of showing off. Well the 350 V8 has nicely been built up to fit in with the old school rat rod theme. It has Edelbrock valve covers and a majority of the motor has been painted Gold. It also has an aged Edelbrock air cleaner that has been pinstriped. It has tube headers on each side and sounds great. The transmission is a Turbo 350 automatic shifts smoothly with no issues. The suspension is the stock set up and it has a straight axle up front.
Being a rat rod the interior has been kept very simple. It has dual bucket seats that have been upholstered in Black. The floor shifter was custom made out of airplane components and has been kept very raw and open appearing. It also has a custom cupholder set made out of patina sheet metal. The floors are uncarpeted and have been replaced with new steel.
This cool truck has a neat look with traditional rat rod styling and is a lot of fun.
