32,370 mile survivor! This time capsule still has most of its original paint, original interior and #s matching driveline.
EXTERIOR: This Z-28 is sporting sleek lines, spoilers, scoop, and louvers. The body is exceptionally clean, I'm sure it was a sunny day cruiser since day one. It is straight, doesn't have the typical door dings. Mostly original paint still shows remarkably well, the original stripes are also in amazing condition. The rubber trim is still soft, the grills and trim .....
are excellent. The wheels were repainted and are wearing BFG tires.
INTERIOR: I'm sitting in the car, and it takes me back to 1978, it is practically brand new! All the plastic trim is in excellent shape, not faded or worn. The center console is pristine, seat cushions are firm, all the upholstery and door panels are in excellent shape. The carpet and seatbelts are excellent. Upgraded above the headliner is still excellent, dome light works. The dash area is mint, 32,370 miles on the odometer. The ashtray looks like it has never been used. It still has its original Am-Fm radio and single rear speaker! The sport wheel is not worn at all. Options also include power windows, a rear defogger and tilt wheel.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Original VIN # matching 350 is all stock down to heat shields, vacuum actuators, and hoses. Complete air cleaner assembly and duct work. Squirters are hooked up, under hood lamp works, and horns are working.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It's a time capsule! The original collapsible spare tire and the jack have probably never been out of the car. Under the lid has original paint and sticker and working trunk light. The jamb has original paint and weatherstrip. Inside is mint and has the original insulated mat.
UNDERSIDE: It is a preserved original underside. The rust proofing did its job, there's no rust. It has the sportier F-41 suspension. It also still has its original exhaust including the catalytic converter and the mufflers say GM right on them. The four shocks were replaced at some point. It has disc brakes in front, the e-brake assembly is hooked up. Looking up at the motor the oil pan still shows its original paint. The Turbo 350 automatic is VIN matching. In back it has its original 3.42 posi rear end.
SERVICE: We inspected the car and replaced the valve cover gaskets and replaced the shift shaft seal.
This era of Camaros are just starting to appreciate, this one is a great investment. Don't just buy it for that reason though, take it out and enjoy it!
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car, make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded, and you will be given a 1 year membership.
