Q: I have a 1977 Lincoln Town Coupe. It is the two door hard-top model with a glass roof. This car is in excellent condition #3. I cannot find how many have been made and I would like to know. I have only seen one other like it and I'd like to know how much it's worth. Any help is greatly appreciated. Stanley Hughes, email.

A: Stanley, the Town Car trim featured an extra plush interior along with, usually but not always, a landau vinyl roof over the rear passenger compartment. The Town Car badge has always been applied to sedans, but from 1975 to 1980, there was a similar option for coupes called the Town Coupe.

A total of 4,836 Town Coupes were produced that year, and I personally feel they are worth more, and will continue to be, than the 4-door models. As for the glass top, it adds 10-percent to the car's value. I'm not really sure how many came with it, but I would say it is rare, perhaps 500 to 750 of total production. Also, if your Town Car is powered by the 460, add another 15-percent to the price I quote below.

I'd say you are sitting on a minimum of $7,500 or better. Good luck and drive safely.
