When the first E-types went up for sale in 1961, they immediately gained attention from both the motoring press and the public for their capability and beauty.
This XKE is in excellent condition, and maintenance is up to date. As a Series 3, it has the automatic transmission not available on previous series examples, as well as Jaguar's all-new V12 engine, replacing the inline 6 cylinder. It was equipped from new with the factory air conditioning, and the original 8-track stereo system. It has an all-new stainless steel exhaust system with fantail exhaust outlets, and also comes with a factory removable hardtop, finished in gloss black. The Regency Red finish is believed to be completely original, with paint meter readings provided in the photos.
