1968 Shelby GT500 KR convertible that is so very rare, this is a most very desirable car that has data that shows this to be 8D3054 Home Office Reserve Domestic Special Order #3054Order that was specked with great options and the very rare 4-speed transmission for the Shelby KR convertible that is certified with a for sure factory builda really exceptional piece with true investment potential, this has been restored to really top excellent factory specifications, here is chassis #8T03R216036-04267 that is in the SAAC registry, this meticulous Shelby is finished in the striking desirable color combination of Lime Gold Metallic (2041-A) that presents today even better than the factory new, such a fantastic quality paint that is so glossy and smooth lazar straight lines, a wonderful body in true MCA show condition, looks dynamic with the all original fantastic body and great underchassis panels, see that this has the Certificate of Authenticity from Shelby, also note the Kevin Marti report for this rare build, it is featuring the beautiful saddle decor bucket seats that are perfect for the exterior, this is powered by the famous, very strong 428cid Cobra Jet engine that is properly dated as per the factory production, this 428cid 8-cylinder Cobra Jet engine was factory rated at 335 with the Police Interceptor 428 block set up with 427 styled low raiser heads with larger valves and bigger combustion chambers, then this KR used a high nodular cast iron crankshaft, larger connecting rods and special dished pistons, this unit is rebuilt to very, very top standards, all stampings correct, large 735cfm 4 carburetor, horsepower yet the realistic power is over 400 horsepower and massive 440 ft/lbs. of torque, a brand new video is just taken at Fraser Dante hearing this fantastic sound, this engine is mated to the rare factory 4-speed transmission that few of these Shelby KR convertibles had, this GT500 KR convertible is one of just 40 as factory produced, equipped with a 3.50 Traction Lok rear end, power steering and power brakes with front end fully rebuilt, the suspension setup is another upgraded from the to the whole handling design, note that also these 4-speed KRs had staggered shock set up for superior handling, the current situation shows a true fresh investment Shelby that comes with production documents plus there are many restoration photos and recent receipts of some $68,036 are in the file from the work that was done by a close friend of this writer that shows lots of the build history, see www.fraserdante.com for further information and full inventory, (770) 641-8354
