It started back in 1957 when a movie came out called “April Love” starring Pat Boone. Pat went to live on his uncle’s horse farm where he found an old 1942 Ford convertible parked in the barn. He got it cleaned up and running and soon was riding with the top down singing his hit songs of the fifties. Seeing this gave me a bad case of convertible fever. Then in 1959, a neighbor sold me this 1953 Ford convertible with a flathead V8 and OD, which he bought new in 1953. With the top down and music from a 45rpm record player I mounted under the dash, I too was ready for my day in the sun. Well here it is 2010 and I am 73 years old now. I still have the 1953 Ford, the 45rpm record player, and a copy of the movie “April Love”. I still enjoy rides in the sun, car shows and parades in my 1953 Ford convertible.
