Description
This incredible 1939 Ford truck is the result of a three-year build conceived by its owner and the talented Paul Herman of Body & Soul Shop in Gallatin, Tennessee. Starting with a 1939 Ford truck cab, the list of custom features and creative fabrications are extensive and numerous. Some of these features include a modified 1938 Chevrolet grill shell with custom fabricated chrome grill bars, 1953 Buick Headlight bezels with custom fiberglass buckets, adding three inches of length to the cab .....
behind the doors to extend cabin space, as well as custom fabricated running boards and exhaust covers mostly made from the fenders of a 1959 Chrysler. The back half of this wild custom was made out of the trunk and rear quarters of a 1959 Chrysler Windsor, including the tail lights, rear bumper pieces and some of the trim. Additionally, the bed sides are topped with Studebaker trim. A Dodge Charger gas cap was used and the bed floor is crafted from a solid piece of hickory. Adding to the vintage hot rod look are 15-inch chrome reverse wheels wearing Firestone bias-ply wide whitewall tire staggered 6.40-15 front and 8.20-15 rear.

HIGHLIGHTS:

Spectacular retro-style custom build

401 Buick Nailhead engine

Two 4-barrel carburetors

700R4 automatic transmission

4-wheel disc brakes

1939 Ford truck cab stretched 3-inches

1959 Chrysler quarter panels and tail lights

1938 Chevrolet grill shell

Custom interior with bucket seats

Power operated cowl vent

The beautiful custom white interior features 1965 Ford Galaxie 500XL bucket seats, a 1953 Buick headlight bezel re-purposed for a gauge housing for a Classic Instruments all-in-one gauge cluster. A 1955 Ford Crown Victoria headlight bezel finishes off the dash area under gauges and functions as air vents when the electric cowl vent is opened. The previous gauge location is now covered with a glove box door to conceal the headlight switch and master cylinder access. A cool, old school tall shifter, blue metal flake steering wheel and 1957 Chevy ignition switch are installed and look amazing. Other interior details include the visor area above windshield repurposed from a 1948 Chevy rear filler panel and chrome door trim created from a 1948 Desoto rocker panel.

Powering this wild custom is a rebuilt Buick Nailhead 401 mated to a 700R4 automatic transmission that delivers back to a 9-inch Ford rear end. The engine is fully dressed in chrome and features a 1965 Buick 425 dual quad intake topped with Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetors, 425 Buick finned valve covers, custom fabricated air cleaner and custom fabricated headers that feed into triangular collectors under the car to allow exhaust to exit through the side pipes or to be routed through the polished exhaust system with mufflers. Stopping power is provided by 4-wheel disc brakes, with the front discs hidden behind chrome Buick style simulated finned brake drums.

This spectacular hot rod looks like it could have been built in the 1960s and is one of the most creative, high quality and unique cars on the planet. More detailed information on this fabulous build can be seen on YouTube ( https://youtu.be/VsGJdeIhgOA?si=QHix80gLzxu_HqXa ). Call today!
