2014 FALL CARLISLE PREVIEW-Celebrate 40 Years of Cars at Fall Carlisle!

2014 FALL CARLISLE PREVIEW, Auto Round-Up Publications, 40 Years of Cars at Fall Carlisle, Fall Carlisle is the company’s flagship event, collector car, car corral, Carlisle Auctions, Carlisle Expo Center, Spring Carlisle, 1956 Corvette, swap meetcollector car memorabiliaFor Bill and Lance Miller, the 2014 Carlisle Events “home” schedule ends where it all started for Bill and Chip Miller in 1974 – Fall Carlisle. Fall Carlisle is the company’s flagship event and during year one it was known as Post-War ’74. Despite a rebrand in 1975 to the Fall Carlisle moniker, the event has remained widely popular. In fact, Fall Carlisle is a popular destination for automotive enthusiasts due to fact that it is essentially the last go around for automotive shopping before the winter months set in. It’s also one of the last chances for enthusiasts to catch up and talk shop about all things automotive. In brief, Fall Carlisle, which runs Oct. 1-5 in 2014, embraces people from around the world and has done so annually for 40 years.

An event like Fall Carlisle is a three-headed monster of excitement. There is a swap meet where automotive pieces and parts, merchandise and collectibles are bought and sold. This is a great outlet for further enhancing a collector car, restoring one or simply adding to the proverbial “man cave.” Option two is the car corral. If show goers aren’t looking to fix up a classic but would rather buy direct, the car corral is a simple face to face option for that to occur. Cars and trucks spanning automotive history comprise the car corral and with tax and tag service onsite, plus banking too; it makes the process that much simpler.

Another awesome aspect of the weekend is the highly popular Fall Carlisle collector car auction. The auction is backed by Carlisle Auctions and runs Oct. 2-3 at the neighboring Carlisle Expo Center. Powering the fun is Carlisle Auction’s revolutionary FREE UNLESS SOLD POLICY. This means that if a car is consigned and doesn’t sell, the consignor receives all fees back associated with the process. Ultimately, the policy helps with not only the overall car counts at each auction, but drastically improves the quality of cars as well. It also helped power a 72% sell- through rate during Spring Carlisle in April of this year. Carlisle Auctions hosts about 300 cars over two days and highlights to date include a 1956 Corvette that was owned by Carlisle Events co-founder Chip Miller. Also, a sizable car collection is planned. These consignments are just a few of what can be expected. Cars run the gambit of automotive history and there is something for everyone.

Finally, Fall Carlisle will include something special this year – a 40th Anniversary birthday party and celebration. Many details of this get together are still being planned, but aspects will include a special recognition of the dozens of original vendors from 1974 that are still vending today, a dinner for them, birthday cake for all to enjoy, games, prizes, music and more. Round number milestones are always popular and for Carlisle Events, this 40th spotlight year has been amazing and has included many great highlights. That said, the biggest and best highlights are yet to come and many of them will be on display during this final event of the Pennsylvania-based schedule in 2014.

There are multiple ways to be involved with Fall Carlisle and all of them start by calling 717-243-7855. With that number, or via our website at carlisleevents.com, enthusiasts can register as a bidder for the auction or consign a car, snag a swap meet space to sell in front of nearly 100,000 enthusiasts or pick up a car corral spot. There is only one last show of the year and this is it. Everyone is encouraged to get involved today! See you there!
